What I did
I built an AI-driven process for creating content briefs for blog articles. It analysed the heading structures of the top 3 ranking articles for each target keyword and used this to generate H2 and H3 structures for new content, giving writers a clear brief grounded in what Google was already rewarding.
Keyword research was carried out across the full site, categorising terms by topic and search intent and building a priority list focused on high-value commercial queries. I then built a Python script to scrape Google search results on a bi-weekly basis, tracking rankings and the competitive landscape for every keyword on that list and producing a dynamic dashboard the team could use.
AI was also used to help optimise product page descriptions, making sure the copy matched the actual product offering and the brand tone of voice.
A content audit revealed that only 11% of the sustainable travel blog articles were driving meaningful traffic. The audit identified intent mismatches and pages missing basic credibility signals. Off the back of this, I recommended new content topics: travel checklists and family holiday guides, which were added to the content calendar.
I audited internal linking to address pages buried deep in the site structure, increasing the number of unique contextual internal links pointing to key product pages.
Page speed was improved by compressing heavy images and converting all PNG files to WebP.
